DocVault is a free Android app that keeps your important documents encrypted on your phone and lets you view them in one place.
DocVault organizes what matters most into secure, dedicated categories.
Passports, national IDs, PAN and voter cards, driving licences and birth certificates — encrypted and ready when you need proof.
Prescriptions, lab reports and insurance papers, organized for emergencies.
Degrees, marksheets and transcripts, safe from loss, fire or damage.
Deeds, rental agreements and warranties, backed up and always retrievable.
Bank statements, tax documents, policies and wills, shared only with people you choose.
Agreements and signed pages, dated and kept together in one secure place.
DocVault stores the files you already have and shows them in its own viewer, so a document never has to leave the vault just to be read.
Page-by-page viewer with swipe, pinch and double-tap zoom.
Headings, lists and tables from DOCX. DOC opens in another app.
Every sheet as a grid, with dates and numbers formatted. XLS opens in another app.
Slide-by-slide text. PPT opens in another app.
Plain text notes and CSV tables, adjustable text size.
Zoom up to 500% to read small print on IDs and receipts.
Previews are built from the decrypted file in memory — no third-party viewer and no internet involved. For anything else, Open with another app hands over a temporary decrypted copy, after asking you first.
DocVault fits into how you already handle files on your phone, and keeps an eye on the dates that matter.
Pinch, double-tap or use the zoom buttons on photos and PDF pages; enlarge the text of Word, Excel and PowerPoint previews.
Save a PDF, Office file or photo straight from your file manager, email or chat app with Open with or Share → DocVault.
Need a full editor? Hand a document to Word, Excel or your PDF reader — DocVault confirms first and never lists itself.
Start with Personal and Family vaults, then build your own folders inside each one — organize your way, on top of the built-in categories.
Photograph a document — several pages merge into one PDF — or pick a file you already have. Uploaded files are titled from their file name.
Find a document by its title or the details you've added — names, addresses, dates of birth, expiry dates and more.
Add a renewal date and DocVault reminds you before a passport, licence or policy lapses — from 1 day to 12 months ahead, per document if you like.
Back up to your Google Drive's private app storage — never your visible Drive folders — or export a password-protected backup file.
New versions download in the background through Google Play while you keep working; restart when it suits you.
DocVault speaks your language from first launch, including right-to-left support for Arabic and Urdu.
Capture pages with your camera, pick a file, or send one from any app with Open with → DocVault.
Choose a category, folder and expiry date; DocVault encrypts the file on your phone and removes the plain copy.
Unlock with your fingerprint, face or PIN and open any document in the built-in viewer — online or off.

DocVault is a free Android app from Zenerly that keeps your important documents — IDs, medical records, certificates, property deeds, financial statements and contracts — in an encrypted vault on your phone. It needs no account or sign-up.
Yes. DocVault is free on Google Play and shows no ads.
DocVault stores PDF, Word (DOC and DOCX), Excel (XLS and XLSX), PowerPoint (PPT and PPTX), plain text, CSV and image files such as JPG, PNG and HEIC. PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, TXT, CSV and images open in DocVault's own viewer; older DOC, XLS and PPT files open in another app installed on your phone.
Yes. Photos and PDF pages support pinch-to-zoom, double-tap zoom and zoom buttons up to 500%, and you can drag around while zoomed. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and text previews let you enlarge the text from 75% to 250%.
In your file manager, email or chat app, choose Open with or Share and pick DocVault. DocVault shows a review screen where you set the title, category and folder, then encrypts the file into your vault and deletes its temporary copy. If the vault is locked, the file waits until you unlock it.
Every document is encrypted on your phone with AES-256 using a key generated on the device and kept in its hardware-backed keystore. DocVault has no server that stores documents. Optional backups go to your own Google Drive app-data folder or to a file you export, protected by a password you choose.
Yes. Adding, organizing, searching and viewing documents all work without an internet connection. The internet is only used for backups you turn on and for app updates.
Yes. Add an expiry or renewal date to a passport, licence or policy and DocVault sends on-device reminders — anywhere from 1 day to 12 months ahead, plus on the day itself. You can set a different schedule for each document.
DocVault uses Google Play's flexible in-app updates: when a new version is available, it downloads in the background while you keep working, and you restart to install it. You can also check manually in Settings → App updates.
Not yet. DocVault is available on Android today; the iOS version is coming soon and you can join the early access list to be notified.
Tap Forgot PIN? on the lock screen and confirm it's you with your phone's screen lock or biometrics; you then set a new PIN and your documents stay untouched. If your phone has no screen lock or biometrics, the only way back in is Reset Vault, which erases the vault — so keep a backup.
DocVault for Android is live today. Join the early access list for iOS, and be first to hear about new vault features.
